The Scrapbook Shop offers a wide variety of classes for you to learn new techniques, work with new products, and create beautiful projects for gifts, your scrapbook albums, or your home. Below you will find a list of classes, descriptions, and photos of the project that will offered in the upcoming month. A calendar is available in our Newsletter or in the store. Valentines Day Star Album $15.00

Create a Valentine gift for someone special! This class is suitable for ages 8 and up. Holds 12 3.5" square photos. We will create the album and an envelope suitable for gift giving. All papers will be pre-cut. Tools

needed: scissors, bone folder, and adhesive.

Tri-Shutter Mini Album $15.00

Instructor: Jennifer Lee

We will create a mini album using the tri-shutter fold technique. This would make a lovely gift, or keep it for yourself! Most papers will be precut, there will be some detailed scissor work. Holds three 3.5" x 5" and four 3.5" square photos. Tools needed: scissors, adhesive, glue dots, liquid adhesive, paper trimmer and scoring tool, bone folder.

 

Lovestruck Page Layout Class $35.00

February 6th, 2010 10am-1pm

Instructor: Pam Womak

Complete 3 - 12x12 page layouts!  This class is packed with product and some fun techniques.  Pre-glittered chipboard accents, tags, bookplates and alphabets in 5 different colors make it easy to assemble with out lots of mess!  A folder of alphabet rub-ons (650 characters in all), a package of rub-on sayings and 12 sheets of double-sided 12x12 heavy weight pattern paper.  We will sew, ink and work our paper into a mini masterpiece.  Because of the variation of product, page themes are not limited to Valentines Day, so be creative. Class kits limited to the first 10.  *Supplies to bring:  mini glue dots, scissor, cutter, foam take or pop dots, 2 sheets of 12x12 white cardstock and 1 sheet of 12x12 red card stock.

SEI Winter  Song Waterfall Class $15.00

January 28th, 6:30 pm

One class was not enough, so here is one more for you.   We will create a 2-page layout that will showcase 6+ of your favorite photos, using the waterfall technique.  This is an interactive layout; pull the tab and watch the album flip open to reveal page after page of your wonderful photos.  We will be using flocked and shimmer papers from SEI to create this great 2 page spread. The second page is designed to accommodate any size photos. Papers will be pre-cut.  Bring your basic class kit with paper trimmer, scoring tool, liquid adhesive,  bone folder, scissors, glue dots, tape runner, and a black pen.  Come with or without photos, your choice.  Class size is limited.

 

 

Valentine Paper Bag Mini Album Class $10.00

In this class we will create a sweet valentine mini album using paper bags as the base & Cosmo Cricket Papers! Complete with pull-out cards and tags; it will hold over a dozen photos. Papers will be pre-cut. Tool/Supply List: Scissors, Paper Trimmer, adhesive, pop dots, bone folder.

Kristi's Cricut 101 Class $30.00

February 16th, 6:00pm

Kristi will cover the basics of your Cricut machine in this comprehensive hands-on class.


The functions of your Cricut machine will be covered. She will explain the parts of the machine as well as operation of the machine using mats and blades. Features of various cartridges will also be discussed. In class you will cut text, basic shapes and try layering and shadows. Everyone will get the chance to create some samples to take home. We will briefly touch on the similarities and differences of the three types of Cricut machines. (Cricut Personal Cutter, Cricut Expression & Cricut Create)

 ***Please bring to class: your Cricut machine, mat, George or Plantin Schoolbook cartridge, a paper trimmer, tape runner, and a glue pen.

Kristi's Cricut Design Studio Primer $40.00

March 2nd 6pm - 8:30pm

Kristi will provide in-depth discussion in this Cricut class that covers the versatile Cricut
Design Studio software. Design Studio is an application that you purchase separately and
install on your home desktop or laptop computer. A USB cable is included to connect your
Cricut machine to your computer. The software allows you to design your cuts on screen, then
send them to your machine for cutting. You can cut basic letters and shapes and also perform
a multitude of other creative tasks like word welding, stretching, cutting with multiple
cartridges, layering, shadowing, and much more. Kristi will cover many of these techniques in
this comprehensive class. You will get to practice these functions and take home some samples. She will also cover installing the software, editing and saving files.

 

***Please bring to class: your Cricut machine, laptop computer, Design Studio Software (preferably loaded, but don’t sweat it!), mat, George or Plantin Schoolbook cartridge, a paper trimmer, tape runner, and a glue pen. 

 

Kristi's Intermediate Cricut Class $40.00

Think you’ve got a handle on most of your Cricut’s functions? Want to do more and maybe learn a little about the Design Studio Software before jumping in? In this class we will be making two very different cards to take home. Using your Cricut we will be doing layering techniques, shadowing, and a show-through. On the Design Studio we will use welding, and resizing techniques using two different cartridges.  There will also be plenty of time for questions and answers, and just cutting things up!

 **Please bring to class: your Cricut machine, mat, and George or Plantin Schoolbook cartridge, paper cutter, tape runner, glue pen.

Construct a different page title every month using a variety of techniques and mediums. Some themes will correspond with the holidays and be very detailed. Experiment with tea-staining, sewing, paper-piecing, inking, embossing, ironing and more! Learn to incorporate felt, fabric, cork, metal and other textures into the overall design. * BONUS- for $2 more, add a 12x12 pre-printed calendar page and 31 punched shapes (for numbers). Choose from a variety of punches and cardstock colors. Supplies to bring: mini glue dots, scissor, cutter, foam tape or pop-dots, adhesive, sandpaper.

Back in the Spring

Window Pane Class $45 - $65

       

  

 

We are offering the window pane classes once again.  There are two options available.  For $45 you can decorate a new window painted with one of the following combinations: taupe base/black topcoat, gold base/white topcoat, or black base/cream topcoat. Or you can come to the store and pick out an antique window for $65. The class includes the window, back boards, tag board and paint.  You will need to bring your photos, paper, embellishments and adhesives along with a basic class kit* (see below). This class can be very involved and it is best to stop in a few days prior to the class with your pictures to make sure you have all of the supplies you need to complete your window pane. Every window is a unique creation and you will be amazed with your finished project!!!  Class size is limited and registration is required.

Beginner Scrapbooking Class $5.00

Teacher: Pam Lund

 Pam will help you get started preserving your photos, answer your questions, explain the who, what, why, and "How do I start?".  She will teach you how to layout your pictures on your pages and help you with color selections.  You will also learn how to organize your products and pictures. Please bring 6-8 photos of 1 event.

Mosaic Class $15.00

Teacher: Pam Lund

 

Pam will teach you how to make beautiful layouts using your exacto knife and a ruler.  We supply the photos for you to work with while you learn this great technique.  Please bring a corked backed ruler, cutting blade (exacto/Fiskars), cutting mat, dot adhesive and your class kit.

Class Policies

All classes are for ages 12 and up, unless otherwise indicated.  Registration and payment is required in advance for all events to guarantee your spot.  If you cannot attend your reserved class, a 48 hour notice is required to receive a credit.  Please be advised we reserve the right to cancel a class if minimum enrollment of at least three students is not met.

 When attending classes, we ask that you always bring a “class kit”- one form of photo safe adhesive, scissors and/or paper trimmer, and pens.  Other supplies may be required, please check the class description for required supplies prior to attending your scheduled class.

 If you do not have any of the supplies needed for your class, or you forget them, we will be happy to assist you in purchasing them at the time of the class.  When you attend a class, you will receive a 15% discount on your entire purchase on the day of the class.

Friday Night Crops and Crop Around the Clock

 Friday night crops cost $15 - dinner, soda, coffee, and chocolate are included and you  receive 10% off your purchase the night you attend the crop. Call ahead to reserve your chair.

Saturday crops will continue to be the second
Saturday of each month and cost $25. Longer than a Friday night, a light lunch, chocolate, soda, coffee and dinner are included.

If you register for both Friday & Saturday
the total cost will be $35! Plus you can leave your supplies here overnight!
